Kraków 3D – Monuments in a New Dimension

Database of photogrammetric models of monuments and architecture

Kraków 3D - Drone photogrammetry and digital heritage inventory

Kraków 3D is an innovative initiative aiming to create a publicly accessible database containing 3D models of monuments. The project is based on the professional technique of low-altitude photogrammetry. Thanks to precise RTK positioning and thousands of photos, we enable realistic virtual tours of the city from anywhere in the world. We create digital documentation of heritage, realizing the first undertaking of this type in Poland.

Applications: Inventory and 3D Models

Museums and Heritage

Digital copies for museums. Our compilations serve as conservation documentation and elements of modern exhibitions (holograms). We bring history to life digitally.

Architecture

Planning support. Photogrammetry is a service for architects – we import models of the Market Square or streets into CAD/BIM, aiding in revitalization and greenery analysis.

Education and VR

Interactive learning. Virtual tours of Kraków allow students to view details inaccessible from the street (e.g., church roofs) on computers or in VR goggles.

3D Printing and Mockups

Together with BRAWAGO, we create precise 3D prints and architectural mockups. Feel free to contact us for cooperation.

What is photogrammetry?

It is an advanced engineering technique that allows creating faithful copies of reality in the digital world. The process involves taking hundreds, sometimes thousands, of photos of an object from different angles – both from a drone and from the ground. Then, powerful algorithms process these images, creating a dense point cloud.

The final result is a so-called ‘Digital Twin’ – a model possessing not only photorealistic texture but, above all, preserving the proportions and dimensions of the real object with millimeter precision. Thanks to this, our models are not just beautiful visualizations, but fully-fledged measurement and inventory material.

Mission to save heritage: This technology is a race against time. We document decaying forts, historic tenements, or castle ruins. By saving them in digital format, we give them “immortality”.
